
The village of Blissfield was the second settlement in Lenawee County, Michigan. It is named after Hervey Bliss, Blissfield Township’s first postmaster and an original settler in 1824. Portions of the village extend into Palmyra and Riga Townships. It was officially incorporated in 1875.
The community is peacefully situated along the River Raisin with easy access to Toledo and Ann Arbor. Though it is a small village with a population of about 3,200, it has a lot of heart and certainly lives up to its name.

Blissfield Community Schools has a B- rating on Niche and is listed within the top half of school districts in the county. The latest gradings from MI School Data gave Blissfield High School an A in Proficiency, Growth, Graduation, and Performance Among Peers.
